Low white blood cell (WBC) counts, or leukopenia, can result from various causes. Infections, like viral diseases (e.g., HIV), can suppress WBC production. Bone marrow disorders, such as leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes, impair WBC creation. Autoimmune conditions, like lupus, may destroy white blood cells. Nutritional deficiencies (e.g., vitamin B12 or folate) and chemotherapy can reduce WBC counts. Certain medications, including ceftriaxone injections wholesale, may cause leukopenia as a side effect. Other factors include radiation therapy, liver or spleen disorders, and severe stress. Diagnosis requires blood tests, and treatment depends on the underlying cause, potentially involving medications or lifestyle changes.
