The most popular wheels for freight cars recently are as follows: 28-inch wheels with a 55-ton weight capacity and 6-by-11 bearings; 33 “wheels with capacities of 70 tones, used with 5 X 9, 5 1/2 X 10, and 6 X 11 bearings; 36″ wheels with capacities of 100 tonnes, used with 6 1/2 X 12 bearings; and 38” wheels with capacities of 125 tonnes, used with 7 X 12 bearings. The nominal capacity of a wheel is determined by how well it can dissipate heat produced during braking as well as how well it can support the weight of a loaded car. 28 inch alloy rims Low deck 89′ flat vehicles with wheels are designed to be utilized with tri-level auto racks.
