Preservation work depends on a small number of growers running open pollinations to keep genetic diversity intact within old sativa populations. Once a landrace is folded into hybrids, the original population is effectively gone unless somebody kept seed aside. Ongoing preservation projects and where their stock ends up are described at https://hazesativaseeds.com. These packs cost more and the plants are unruly, which limits how many people take part.
