Benefits Eligibility Building blocks: Benefit Groups and Benefits Service Area

 

In this post, I will discuss the basic building blocks for Benefits Eligibility  – Benefits Groups and Benefits Service Area. Benefit Groups can be used to add an employee or other benefits participants for the purpose of evaluating eligibility for a benefit program or a plan or activity rate calculation.

Benefits Service Area is particularly useful when determine eligibility based on a single postal code or range of postal codes.  Postal codes can be combined into service areas to use as eligibility criteria. Service areas define geographical regions as eligibility criteria when work location is not adequate to drive eligibility for a plan.
