Read only Line Manager Role in Fusion HCM

Often companies have the requirement to build a read only Line Manager Role in Fusion HCM. As Line Managers, they have view access to their direct and indirect reports but they do not want the managers to perform transactions on their reportees. Building a read only Line Manager role in Fusion HCM may be quite complex. The attached documents might be used as a guideline on how to achieve this.

Update: This strategy will no longer work from release 11 as the APM area is restricted. However you can compare these above duties to achieve something similar using the security console available in release 12.

To the best of our knowledge, there is no way to create a read only Line Manager role. The only option is to remove all actions (Promote, Terminate, Transfer etc.) using customizations. That way the line manager can view their direct and indirect reports but cannot perform any actions. Hopefully that answers your question.
