Oracle HCM Cloud Release 11 What’s New

As many of you may know that the main effort of Release 11 improvements was concentrated on moving all HCM Work Areas to Simplified User Interface.
It means that almost all screens have been rewritten for using in Simplified UI, except two Work Areas: My Dashboard and Payroll Dashboard.
Below you can see some of new screens:

But it doesn’t mean that customers are forced to use only SUI. For those customers who are used to working with Classic UI all classic screens are present.
You can switch between SUI and Classic UI by setting Administrator Profile Option FND_CLASSIC_INTERFACE.

Beside SUI, there are a lot of new features in Release 11.
Full details you can review on the Human Capital Management Release Readiness page: https://cloud.oracle.com/saasreadiness/hcm

But I would like to note a couple of new features that attracted my attention:

  • Person Contextual Actions
A user can easily access available actions that can be taken on workers from anywhere in the system and navigate to other work areas. You can control the Actions menu through personalization by hiding actions or marking them as recommended actions for users.

  • Infolets
Infolets are small, interactive, configurable information widgets on your dashboard that provide report summaries based on your transactional data.
Announced in R10 they are extended in R11 with new features.
Now it is easier to reorder or move around infolets. You can simply drag and drop the infolet to the desired position and it will align itself with other infolets and fill in the blank spaces.
Infolet facets allow you to consume a special portion of information from a different source. You can now add new facets to an existing infolet to capture these pieces of content. You can continue to delete an existing facet that is no longer needed.

  • Time and Labor – Integration with Time Collection Devices. Now it is possible to provide integration with external time tracking systems. But I am still waiting for Timekeeper Work Area that will probably come up in the next release.

Good luck and remember:
‘You can’t change the direction of the wind but you can adjust the sails to reach your destination.’

Regards,
Volodymyr
